Veysel Akkaya
They were men of hearts who combined their cau-
se with love. They loved children very much. One of
them, Mawlana, once encounters children.
The children playfully turn around him and say, “You
are now our prisoner. You have no salvation!” Mawlana
immediately joins their game. He says by raising his
hands to signal surrender, that:
“Oops! I am captured! So what should I do to get rid
of it?” he asks as pretending to be upset. Children say
that very seriously:
“If you pay a ransom, we will set you free. Or you will
stay captured!” Mawlana checks himself and takes out
the walnuts from his pocket:
“Will I be free if I give these away?” he replies. Since the
purpose of the children is gifts, they take the walnuts
and leave. Mawlana smiles after them and says:
“We went cheap, just like Prophet Joseph.”
