Hayreddin Barbarossa

                                            • Ebubekir Subaşı
Oruch, Ishak, Hızır and Ilyas brothers from
Midilli, who were born like the sun in the
Mediterranean, were interested in sailing and
received great help from Yavuz’s elder brother
Korkut. Upon his death, they went to Tunisia
and ascended to the sultanate in Algeria with
                                            their conquests. Suleiman the Magnificent
had to break up the Christian unity that had
developed in the West after Charles V became
emperor. He had himself on land, but in the
seas he needed a Captain-Darya who could
oppose Andrea Doria. This could only be Hı-
zır, the only surviving member of the Barba-
                                            rosian Brothers.

        Mehmet the Conqueror

        • Ebubekir Subaşı
Sultan Mehmet had really set his mind to be
the conqueror, essentially, he had to look con-
        fident and determined.
“Let the trees on Maçka and Dolapdere sides
be cut down tonight, let the thin navy of sixt-
y-seven pieces be lowered to the Golden Horn
tonight by making sledges, so that the mortar
fire never ceases so that the enemy cannot no-
        tice the situation!”

“So, the ships will sail by land, my sultan?!”
“If we can’t break the chain by walking by the
sea, we’ll walk by the land.”
